2019 NFL Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders kick off trade bonanza

Steve Wilks wants to build a strong 4-3 defense as he had in Carolina. While he’s got some nice veteran pieces to this point, he doesn’t have one he can build around for the future. Typically 4-3 defenses are at their best when they have an interior pass rusher who can dominate and demand constant double teams. Think Kawann Short. For that job there are few better suited in this draft class than Ed Oliver. He has become a force at Houston, showcasing a mix of burst and power along with a natural leverage that serves the job perfectly. He and Chandler Jones could make for a lethal 1-2 punch.
