The Chicago Bears mailbag tackles a number of different topics this week, ranging from what ails the defense to their puzzling offensive issues.

One thing that’s apparent about this team thus far is they’re more talented than last years. This is a good thing. What they haven’t figured out yet is how to put a complete 60-minute effort together each week. When they have it’s looked beautiful. Unfortunately the past few weeks they haven’t been able to do so, and it’s resulted in two painful losses. Can they get back into form? That and more will be answered.

why is Leonard Floyd is still on the team??

Ryan Pace is still the GM. That’s the primary reason at the moment. Another is the simple fact the Bears are thin at outside linebacker right now. It’s looking like the loss of Sam Acho is looming larger than anybody could’ve expected. The fact is Floyd is not performing anywhere close to the expectations people had for him coming into 2018. This could put his future on the roster in question come next season. Right now cutting him helps no one.

Would you trade Leonard Floyd for Fowler of the jags? Pat Pete has said he wants to stay (to save backlash from the fans), he’s on the same money as Kyle Fuller, do you think cards would take fuller and a 3rd for PP?

Of course, I’d trade for Fowler simply because he’s a better pass rusher. That said the trade itself is unrealistic because Jacksonville would have no use for Floyd. To me, Patrick Peterson represents exactly what the Bears are missing in a true cover corner who can lock down one side of the field. However, he’s 28-years old. His window of top play is limited to around four years at most after this season. Giving up a good corner like Fuller and a 3rd round pick is too steep.
