2019 NFL Draft: Mocking the top 10 picks at week eight
Jon Gruden is ready to clean house and it appears that no one is off limits as Gruden builds his team. After trading Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper the Raiders have three picks in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and are ready to execute Gruden’s vision for this franchise.
Gruden is clearly not happy with the secondary Reggie McKenzie built in recent years. Former second round pick Obi Melifonwu was waived on Wednesday and Gareon Conley was benched. Greedy Williams gives Oakland a true number one cornerback coming out of one of the best programs for defensive backs.
Indianapolis needs to upgrade the talent across their depth chart with the exception of Andrew Luck, Quenton Nelson, TY Hilton, and Darius Leonard. Those are the building blocks for Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich going forward.
With so many holes on both sides of the ball the Colts simply take the best player available, who in my opinion if Jeffery Simmons. The Mississippi State defensive tackle is a force to be reckon with against the run and last year he produced five sacks, the only one’s in his career.
Getting Josh Allen a playmaker would be terrific, but I don’t see a wide receiver worth taking this early after DK Metcalf’s injury. Buffalo will be in best player available mode this year, opening the door to many possibilities.
If the Bills can not give Allen a weapon in the first round, then they should at least give him more protection. Buffalo has given up 26 sacks through seven games, the third most in football. Jonah Williams is reliable and gives the Bills options along with Dion Dawkins.
