Washington State makes a statement against Oregon

The day was started with ESPN College Gameday being on site for a big top-25 matchup in the Pac-12. Washington State (6-1, 3-1 in Pac-12) fed off that emotion and hype to put together their most convincing win of the season over Oregon.

A high-powered offense led by quarterback Gardner Minshew, who passed for 323 yards and four touchdowns, motored the Cougars to a big 34-20 victory to win their third straight. The Pac-12 North division race is in their hands at the moment thanks to this victory. The Cougars started the contest off in a domination fashion with a 27-0 halftime lead but a third quarter surge by Oregon (5-2, 2-2) made it a one score game about halfway into the fourth quarter.

This was Washington State’s fourth straight win over Oregon and it appears that the Apple Cup at the end of the season against in-state rival Washington will be a possible winner-take-all scenario in the Pac-12 North.
