As is the case for most playoff contenders it’s tough to see the Titans trading away players, especially those who are young and cheap. The only way they move a player is if they are getting another one in return who provides a major upgrade.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell laid out the following trade involving Tennessee and Detroit that makes some sense for both sides.

The Titans need to get more playmakers around Marcus Mariota, and while Tajae Sharpe is a quality receiver he’s not a dynamic difference maker. As Barnwell noted, Sharpe has dropped two big touchdown passes. That hasn’t helped the Titans, who are third to last in the league in offensive yards, yards per play, and first downs.

Sharpe has one more year on his contract worth $788,000, which makes moving him even tougher considering the value he presents to Tennessee at such a cheap rate. But, if there is an opportunity to improve on offense via a trade, Sharpe could be the odd man.
