Amari Cooper. 25. player. 28. . WR. Raiders

None of the Raiders 53 players are safe from the trade deadline after what Jon Gruden pulled earlier this year with Khalil Mack. There are several reports connecting nearly every first round pick made by Reggie McKenzie to a trade, no matter what they’ve turned out to be. Amari Cooper, Karl Joseph, and Gareon Conley are all on the trade block for Oakland and a trade involving either would be far from shocking.

With that being said, who is the most likely Raider to be traded? Cooper feels like that guy despite the connection he has built with Derek Carr. The former Crimson Tide receiver has the fifth-year option remaining on his contract, giving whichever team that acquires him some controllability.

Oakland is reportedly asking for a first round pick in return for Cooper, though a recent concussion could dial down the hot stove rumors.

After having over 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons Cooper has less than 900 yards in his last two years for Oakland. What once looked like a cornerstone for the Raiders has now turned into a trade chip for Gruden to play with. If Cooper is healthy expect the rumors to swirl all the way to the trade deadline.

UPDATE: This was written prior to the Raiders actually trading Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys for a 1st round draft pick. So…..nailed it!
