2018 NFL Trade Deadline: One player on the block for each team

23. New York Giants
Eli Manning might be done, but I struggle to see a scenario where the Giants trade the greatest quarterback in franchise history. They’ll likely ride out the season with Manning and see what the offseason brings in terms of trades and the draft.
New York is clearly out of the race this year and it’s time to evaluate who will realistically return next year. The Giants only have one free agent who could garner considerable compensation. Drafted with the first pick of the second round in 2015 Collins has made two Pro Bowls and earned one All-Pro selection. He’s one of the few bright spots on the Giants, but if they can’t sign him to an extension then there’s no point in letting him ride out the rest of the year only to lose him in free agency.
The Giants would likely receive either a third or fourth round compensatory pick for Collins, so a third round pick will be the least they would take in a trade.
