11. Detroit Lions

RB. Detroit. Ameer Abdullah . 11. player. 50.

The additions of Kerryon Johnson and LeGarrette Blount have pretty much spelled things out for Ameer Abdullah. He had every opportunity over the past few seasons to establish himself as the go-to running back in the Detroit Lions offense. He squandered them all. Granted, the blocking hasn’t exactly been great but he also struggled often with ball security.

With Johnson, Blount, and Theo Riddick forming a capable trio Abdullah isn’t needed anymore. That said he still has a skill set that can be worthwhile in a more creative offense. He’s got quickness and speed that can prove dangerous in space. A team just has to be willing to take a chance on him being able to hang onto the football.
