Houston. Ed Oliver. 3. player. 42. . DT

As the 49ers continue to try and build the best possible team they can around Jimmy Garoppolo, they add arguably the best defensive player in this year’s draft — Ed Oliver.

The 49ers have spent some very valuable draft capital on the defensive line in recent years so we know John Lynch understands the importance of a great pass rush in today’s NFL. The 49ers also have the unfortunate task of trying to block Aaron Donald every year, and he just recently posted a career high four sacks in a game against San Francisco.

Provided Garoppolo can stay healthy going forward, San Francisco’s offense should be fine, but adding a player like Oliver on the defensive front could take a lot of pressure off the San Francisco offense.

He’s dominant.
