College Football Week Seven Takeaways: Top 10 turmoil
Michigan dominates in the Big House
It took a quarter to get things going but once the #5 Michigan Wolverines started to click on both sides of the ball, they took siege of the #23 Wisconsin Badgers en-route to a 38-13 victory and their best win of the season.
The first ranked overall defense in the FBS made their mark and impacted the game throughout by holding the Badgers offense just 283 total yards, 2-of-11 on third down, 100 passing yards, and forcing two turnovers, one was a 21-yard pick-six for Michigan corner Lavert Hill to put the Wolverines up 31-7 in the fourth.
Much was said about the Michigan offense and whether they could establish consistency and rhythm. The offense posted 320 rushing yards on the Badgers so they played to their identity which is a rugged, physical brand on both sides of the ball.
Can they keep this going? The Wolverines are 4-0 in the conference, along with bitter rival Ohio State. As long as the defense is aggressive and nasty, it’s tough to fully dismiss the Wolverines in the Big Ten and CFP race.
