George: What do you get the team that has everything? Another playmaker on defense.

The Los Angeles Rams have just about everything a good football team needs to succeed in today’s league. They’ve got their quarterback and playmakers on offense and some ferocious pass rushers on defense. It’s no wonder they’re one of two undefeated teams going into week six of the NFL season.

Already facing Ndamukong Suh’s pending free agency the Rams have three linebackers set to go on the open market next offseason. Bryce Hager, Ramik Wilson, and Matt Longacre provide depth and Longacre is listed as the starting WILL for Los Angeles.

Mack Wilson is one of the leaders of the Alabama defense as their middle linebacker. I trust him most in pass coverage thanks to his ability to diagnose a play and react to what’s in front of him. He does have an issue with overpursuing ball carriers, but given the Rams depth on defense he should have time to learn and adjust under Wade Phillips.
