David Montgomery. 29. player. 49. . RB. Iowa State

Sayre: The Packers have a number of really solid options at the running back position, but perhaps no one with quite the skillset of a David Montgomery.

Montgomery stands out like a sore thumb at Iowa State, where he is very clearly the team’s most gifted athlete.

He grew a reputation in 2017 for being able to create yardage after initial contact, and that’s potentially where he could help the Packers the most.

Aaron Jones is currently the Packers’ leader with 49 rushing yards per game. They are developing some players, but they don’t have anything set in stone at the running back position at the point as far as a bell cow going forward. Montgomery has the look of a player who can really carry the load for whatever NFL team drafts him.
