George: Minnesota hasn’t exactly blown the doors off like many imagined after they added Kirk Cousins and Sheldon Richardson during the offseason. They’re 2-2-1 and the NFC North is playing tougher than most projected through the first quarter of the season.

The Vikings offensive line has allowed 14 sacks through five games and they still haven’t faced Chicago and Khalil Mack. Da Bears and Mack will present as a long-term issue for Minnesota and the entire offensive line must step up.

Right tackle Rashod Hill is graded as ProFootball Focus’ 66th offensive tackle out of 73 eligible tackles. Riley Reiff has a large cap hit each of the next three seasons after signing a five-year deal prior to last season.

It’s time for an already loaded Minnesota team to add depth on the offensive line and prepare for many more years of Mack being a force on the edge.

Dalton Risner slipped a bit and provides very good value in the middle of the first round. He displays textbook technique and is one of the best pass protectors in college football.
