2019 NFL Mock Draft: Multiple quarterbacks in the top-32
Sayre: Keeping Aaron Rodgers healthy and upright is not only a primary goal of the Packers, but apparently the NFL in general.
Rodgers’ injury issues over the past couple years seemed to be somewhat of a catalyst for the NFL’s new and certainly not improved roughing the passer penalties.
Right now, Rodgers is getting sacked about three times per game (16 in five games) and the Packers have to do better than that, even as much as Rodgers likes to extend plays with his legs.
With that being the case, the Packers do like another NFC North team did in this mock draft and look to a local product in David Edwards to bolster the offensive line.
Bryan Bulaga has played one 16-game season since 2016 and only twice in his NFL career has he played in all 16 games over the course of a season. The Packers have a star in David Bakhtiari at left tackle but Edwards could come in and give them an elite set of bookends.
