#3:  Bill Belichick leaves Jets and takes over Patriots

For almost a day it looked like the New York Jets had something going at head coach. They’d had Bill Parcells pull them out of the muck the past couple years, but now his disciple Bill Belichick would be able to take them to the next level. That dream lasted for about a day. As the team was preparing to make the announcement, he had a change of heart and quickly resigned from the position.

It was a baffling turn of events that only got worse from there. While the Jets were left scrambling for a replacement, Belichick was hired to replace Pete Carroll as head coach of the New England Patriots. Jets fans have been stuck in their own personal hell ever since, watching Belichick become the greatest coach in NFL history and winning five Super Bowls.
