#6:  Charles Haley knocks off 49ers twice after they traded him

Making franchise-altering decisions in the heat of the moment is never a wise thing. Charles Haley had grown frustrated with the San Francisco 49ers after they chose to get rid of his friend and mentor, Ronnie Lott. It got to such a point that rather than try reconciling, the 49ers decided to wash their hands of the issue altogether.

The Pro Bowl defensive end was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, where he instantly transformed their defense into one of the best in the NFL. It would be a move San Francisco would live to regret. Haley was a primary driving force in the Cowboys knocking them out of both the 1992 and 1993 NFC championship games, costing them vital shots at winning the Super Bowl.
