Already? Yes, already. There are lots of blockbuster trades in NFL history, but very few that have a transformative impact on a franchise. Everything changed the moment Mack arrived in Chicago. Not just the level of expectation outside the building because of the superstar stature he carries. Also from the man himself. He expects to win and reflects that in how he plays and practices.

The rest of this Bears team is following his example. Suddenly they’re 3-1, in command of the NFC North and look like one of the most dangerous teams in the league. It’s insane to think one man can do that in just a month after being dealt for. He’s already proving worth every penny of that deal and there are another six years left on his new contract.
