LSU Offense

QB Joe Burrow

The redshirt junior from Ohio State Joe Burrow has been impressive so far, throwing six touchdowns and no interceptions for the Tigers after he transferred to LSU in 2018. He is coming off his best performance this season, throwing three touchdowns against Ole Miss as he is slowly getting acclimated to the LSU offense. He has been miles better than any quarterback LSU has had in recent memory (Danny Etling from last year for example) and the future for this LSU quarterback looks bright so far. This will be a big test for Joe Burrow as they have split against ranked teams and good defenses (Week 1 loss against Miami but won in Week 3 against Auburn). If he does not force anything and does not turn the ball over, LSU has a good shot to beat a good Florida defense.

RBs Nick Brosette/Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Senior running back Nick Brosette took the carries and took advantage of them the first two games, rushing for 262 yards on 41 carries and two touchdowns. But in Week 4, The sophomore running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire had more carries (20 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns) in that game and LSU now has two productive starters in their running back system.

Brosette still has 108 carries to Edwards-Helaire’s 57 carries and the two of them combined have 756 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Florida will have a tough task in stopping either running back as LSU will most likely give Brosette the head start in carries due to seniority but will give more touches to the hot hand if Edwards-Helaire is more productive on his carries.
