Anfernee Jennings . 32. player. 124. . EDGE. Alabama

For one reason or another the Chiefs felt that they needed to move on from Marcus Peters despite him being one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Without Peters the Chiefs secondary has been burned, allowing the most yards, first downs, and yards per rush attempt in the league.

I’d love to find a replacement to Peters, but I haven’t seen another cornerback worthy of a first round pick just yet. Unless Lavert Hill, Julian Love, or Michael Jackson put something on tape the rest of this season, they’re second round picks in my eye.

Kansas City will need either a defensive end or linebacker with both Allen Bailey and Dee Ford set to be free agents. That’s where Anfernee Jennings of the Crimson Tide comes in. I’m not in love with Jennings as a prospect, but he fits the bill of what Kansas City will need, and that’s an aggressive edge rusher to replace either Bailey or Ford.

With only one quarterback going in the first round in this mock this pick could always be traded in the future. We saw it last year with Lamar Jackson going to Baltimore when Philadelphia traded out of the first round. This could be the Will Grier or Dwayne Haskins pick on draft day.
