This is the Khalil Mack pick Oakland received from Chicago in the blockbuster deal. After grabbing an immediate replacement to Mack with Nick Bosa earlier, the Raiders have several intriguing options. Their options include a tight end, linebacker, and corner to play with Gareon Conley

Oakland needs to get younger on defense, so the pick of LSU linebacker Devin White makes sense. Gruden filled the team out with veterans to get through the season and now it’s time to build around some elite, young stars.

Derrick Johnson is the veteran manning the middle linebacker spot on a one-year deal and the Raiders need to find their field general of the future.

I highlighted my concerns with White earlier, mostly with his inability to get off blocks and disengage from linemen. In Oakland he’ll be playing back in pass coverage and tackling runners in the open field. I’d rather have him do that than rush the passer, especially when he can’t get away from offensive linemen.

White and Bosa will be the next to big pieces of a scary Raider defense going forward, wherever they will play. Both are athletic playmakers who will instantly gain the affection of Raider Nation.
