2019 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Defenders dominate throughout
Folks are staying relaxed about the Packers 2-1-1 start to the season, especially coming off a win. Despite the scary knee injury earlier in the season Aaron Rodgers continues to put up points. He continues to have a good connection with Davante Adams, targeting him 43 times through four games.
Defensively the Packers have been solid as well, allowing just over 1,300 yards and holding quarterbacks to a 63.2 completion percentage, worthy of a top-10 standing.
Reports out of Green Bay are that the team doesn’t plan on retaining linebacker Clay Matthews when he contract expires this offseason. That would leave a major hole in the Packers defense at one of the outside linebacker spots, one that Matthews has filled for 10 seasons.
Josh Allen would be the perfect fit as an outside linebacker for the Packers 3-4 defense, a much better fit than Devin White coming out of LSU. Allen has a nose for the football and his an aggressive pass rusher, while also remaining steady when dropping back. He doesn’t have elite bend as a pass rusher, but he can turn the corner and make plays.
