47. . WR. Ole Miss. DK Metcalf. 20. player

New England has had issues at receiver all year, so bad that they had to acquire Josh Gordon from Cleveland. They’ve worked out every first round bust from Corey Coleman to Breshad Perriman, and they’ve had Coleman in house multiple times.

From Jordan Matthews, Kenny Britt, Eric Decker, and many more, the Patriots have gone through receivers at a ridiculously high rate. They’re getting Julian Edelman back from suspension to go with Phillip Dorsett, Chris Hogan, and Gordon. Time will tell if Gordon can be a number one for  Tom Brady, but right now the Patriots look like they need another big target to pair with Rob Gronkowski.

DK Metcalf has risen to the number one receiver spot on most big boards, though Stanford’s JJ Arcega-Whiteside could close in quickly.

Metcalf is huge at 6’4 with impressive length, and I’ll be waiting to see how long his wingspan is at the combine. He primarily plays on the outside as the X-receiver with a fairly average route tree. He’ll need to sell some more of his routes and get his hands up quicker, but playing with Brady will only make him better.
