Joe Flacco (Baltimore Ravens):  B+

He may not have been happy that the Baltimore Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson. After all he’s done for the franchise, why would they attempt to push him out like that? Except this is the NFL. Joe Flacco should know better that nothing is handed to you in this league. The Ravens weren’t satisfied with his play and so sent a shot across the bow to get his attention.

Either play better or get replaced. It may sound cold but teams are in the business of winning games. Baltimore wasn’t winning games with the Flacco of last year. So he chose the former option. He worked hard in the offseason and is off to one of the best starts of his career with eight touchdowns and two interceptions through the first four games.

He was especially good against the Steelers at Heinz Field. He looked in command and poised throughout in what has always been a tough place to play. If not for a bad outing against the Bengals a couple weeks before, he’d have scored a near perfect mark. If his play keeps up, the grade will definitely rise over the coming months.
