Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles): B

After sitting out two weeks coming off knee surgery, Carson Wentz returned to the 1-1 Eagles and got them to 2-2 after an overtime loss to Tennessee. If not for several defensive breakdowns late in the Titans game, Philadelphia would be 3-1 and perfect under Wentz.

Luckily the Eagles are getting healthier around Wentz with Alshon Jeffery returning and hopefully Darren Sproles coming back from a hamstring.

Through his first two games, Wentz has looked strong and unafraid to use his legs coming off the injury. He showed escapability similar to what he did prior to his injury, a welcomed sign for fans.

Obviously, the robust stats aren’t going to favor Wentz after he missed two games. Through two games he has three touchdowns and only one pick, but he’s been sacked nine times. All-Pro Lane Johnson has been charged with four sacks and 13 hurries already this year while 36-year-old Jason Peters continues to hold down the fort at left tackle.

Philadelphia now has four interesting tests coming up on their schedule with the Vikings, Giants, Panthers, and Jaguars (in London) before going on their bye. That means Wentz will be facing some of the best pass rushers in the league and dealing with a vengeful Vikings team lead by former Eagles coach, now offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.
