Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

The Bills traded up to get Josh Allen and he has started three games, appearing in four so far in his rookie season.

Allen sandwiched probably the best game I have ever seen him play between two performances that were frighteningly reminiscent of his time at Wyoming.

First, the good.

Allen’s week three performance against the Minnesota Vikings was an incredible one. The Bills were not supposed to go into Minnesota and get a win against one of the most talented teams in the NFL, but that’s just what they did.

As Bills fans trudge on into the future, that will be a game they point at as a reason to have faith and optimism for Allen.

He completed 68 percent of his passes and had three total touchdowns to go along with one of the best hurdles you will ever see from a quarterback in an actual game.

The Bills worked the Vikings over, and it’s safe to say everyone was impressed.

Now, the bad.

Allen is taking way too many sacks, and he’s been way too erratic with his accuracy. Consistency was a major issue of his while at Wyoming, and that has continued on into the professional ranks. He followed up his stellar performance against the Vikings with a complete dud against the Packers, throwing two interceptions and taking seven sacks.

Allen had the most work to do coming into the league, and though he had a big flash game against the Vikings, he’s proven he still has a really long way to go.
