#1:  Failures on defense

So many talented offensive coaches fall into this trap. They can handle their expertise just fine but the other side of the ball ends up killing them in the end. Koetter is on the cusp of it taking him down as well. The Buccaneers defense was never that good to start, ranking 15th his first year. Since then it’s gotten much worse at 22nd in 2017 and 32nd so far this year.

It’s hard to win football games in shootout fashion every week. Teams start to learn that all they have to do is stop you a couple times and their odds of winning go up drastically. The Steelers proved it two weeks ago and the Bears proved it in a big way last week. His failure to get things fixed on the defensive side will likely be written on his epitaph.
