#2:  Lack of true ascent from Jameis Winston

Koetter was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach for a specific reason. The Buccaneers didn’t want to lose him to another team because they felt he gave them the best chance to turn Jameis Winston into the star quarterback they felt he could be as a former #1 pick. In fairness, he can’t control the young man being dumb off the field, but on the field? Different story.

The truth is Winston has changed all that much from who he was as a rookie. He can still make some eye-popping plays at times and has stretches where he looks like a franchise guy. Then he’ll kick on the gunslinger option and throws some absolutely atrocious passes. His inconsistency is getting old and the problems away from the locker room only make it worse.
