#12 West Virginia vs. #25 Texas Tech: Stream, keys, and predictions
Prediction
Get ready for a show with these two offenses known for generating plenty of yards, points and big plays.
Last season’s matchup in Morgantown saw the Mountaineers coming out on top in a back-and-forth 46-35 game. Grier tossed for five touchdowns and just one interception and the foursome at receiver mentioned previously combined for 29 catches and five touchdowns. That type of output was needed for a West Virginia 22-point fourth quarter.
Both teams can pass and both teams can score at will which makes a key factor in this is which offense can generate efficiency in the run game. Statistically, Texas Tech has that advantage and is powered by running backs Ta’Shawn Henry and Demarcus Felton. But what West Virginia has is a veteran at quarterback who is amongst the best in all of college football.
As long as Grier and the Mountaineer offense is on the field, they are tough to contain. Texas Tech can and will keep this interesting thanks to their weaponry and a defense that kept high-powered Oklahoma State to just 17 points. Grier is the ace in the hole here and with his proficiency as a quarterback, Tech’s defense will have to be near perfect, which they have not necessarily been this season.
