The retooling of the defense continues for the Raiders. Having acquired their pass rusher, they next move to improve their pass coverage. Don’t be fooled by his average size. Deandre Baker can play. He’s gone against the best the SEC has to offer and held his own on one of the best defenses in college football. His ability to play physical coverage but also crack down on the run are qualities that appeal to the style of defense Gruden likes. Baker may not seem like the next big thing but he’ll be one of those guys that always generates a positive response when you remember him.
