What do you think about signing Franklin? I feel like maybe with time he could be something but just seems like a weird sign to me.

I assume you mean John Franklin III? There’s nothing too weird about the signing to me. The kid is a supreme athlete. He’s got size, quickness, agility, and speed galore. There’s no telling how good he can be if he were given some time to learn a position that fits his skillset properly. The epitome of a project player. If it doesn’t work out? No big loss. If it does? The Bears will have secured a valued contributor to their roster for pennies.

What are the chances the Bears rest Miller this week and see how his shoulder feels after the bye week?

High. I think the Bears are going to take their chances without Miller and Prince Amukamara this week and give them the extra time to heal up. Beating Tampa Bay is important but there will be 12 games left to go. Losing one of them by aggravating a current injury while trying to win this one game would be an unnecessary risk. These are the sort of things a good team has to work through during a season. I think they can.
