The Chicago Bears at Arizona Cardinals matchup in week three is a fascinating one featuring two teams still seeking their offensive identities.

That’s fancy talk for saying it could be an ugly affair between two good defenses most of the afternoon. Then again when people say such things it turns into an unexpected shootout, so who knows. The bottom line is this is a game both teams need to win. Chicago has a chance to seize control of the NFC North for the first time in five years while Arizona is desperately trying to avoid the dreaded 0-3 start to their season.

It might not be the high profile game of the week, but there’s definitely some reasons to watch. Perhaps there’s the chance of another 1st round QB getting the green light. Maybe the best pass rush in football adds to their talley. Crazy things tend to happen when these two teams get together. So here is the complete breakdown of what to expect.

Storylines:

The Josh Rosen countdown – Everybody knew that Sam Bradford was a placeholder the moment the Cardinals drafted Josh Rosen with the 10th overall pick. It wasn’t a matter of “if” but “when” he got the call to become starter. Given how utterly ineffective Bradford has been thus far, the cries for the rookie have grown louder. The question is do they pull that trigger now going against the #1 pass rush in the NFL so far this year? Tough call.

Building the Trubisky blocks – Chicago now knows they have a great defense. They have a strong running game and solid receivers. All eyes are turned towards Mitch Trubisky at quarterback. Thus far the results have been mixed. The former #2 pick continues to struggle with inconsistency. He’ll make a really good play here, and then miss an easy play there. Fans are getting impatient but the coaches continue to preach it’s a process and they’re working through it.
