The 2018 NFL trade deadline wouldn’t be worth talking about if this were 10 years ago but it’s a whole new age. The young generation is taking over.

Teams have seemed more open than ever to making minor or even major deals for players if they think it might give them that extra push towards the playoffs or a Super Bowl. On the flip side, some teams seem more willing to unload expensive veterans and begin stockpiling money and draft picks for the next season. What could be a deal that every NFL team might consider in the coming month before the deadline? Maybe a certain player is available or a certain position addressed.

Arizona Cardinals

CB. Arizona. Patrick Peterson . 1. player. 32.

It became apparent right away that the Arizona Cardinals have a ton of flaws. Nowhere more so than the offensive side of the ball with just six points scores in their first two games. It doesn’t seem like it will get any better either regardless if they go to Josh Rosen at quarterback, which seems inevitable at this point. This team just doesn’t have enough pieces to be a factor.

That could be why John Keim may seek to acquire both draft choices and salary cap for next year, meaning some of the older veterans on the roster may be up for grabs. The name to watch here would be Patrick Peterson. The star cornerback is 28-years old and still has three years left on his current deal. So there’s a good chance any team would have a top corner for at least that long.

In return, the team would collect over $10 million in cap space for 2019 and a high draft choice.
