How are the top rookies performing in the AFC West through two weeks? We take a look at players from the Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs.

The AFC West has some extremely talented rookies this season but which players are standing out in such a deep class?

Before we dive in, it’s important to note that it really feels like no matter which AFC West team emerges as a division champion or even a wild-card playoff team this year, rookies are going to play a major role.

The Denver Broncos had the highest selection of any team in the division, followed by the Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs, who didn’t have a first-round selection due to the trade they made in 2017 to move up and get Patrick Mahomes.

So far, that’s looking like a wise decision.

The Chiefs are really the only team in the division that has not had a major need arise for a rookie to step in and perform, though over the course of the season that could change, especially with their defense performing so poorly in the first two weeks of the season.

Let’s take a look at some of the top rookies from around the division, and how each player is helping their team so far in 2018.
