There were so many things that didn’t make sense in the Washington Redskins abysmal performance against the Colts.

Most of my frustration, and confusion, is a result of personnel decisions made by the Washington Redskins before the game even started. These concerns were reinforced as the game played out.

Specifically, where the heck was Ryan Kerrigan? I realize that as a Redskin fan criticism of Kerrigan is paramount to treason. But, a team that plays a 3-4 defense cannot afford for their star OLB to be invisible. But, invisible he was. Not good. I don’t recall seeing him within five feet of Luck. It’s not like he was going up against an All-Pro right tackle. The Colts offensive line is, at best, average.

No reason to panic, everyone has an off day from time to time but it does make one wonder, with Kerrigan’s ineffectiveness, why isn’t Ryan Anderson getting a few more snaps? Do the Redskins really have no confidence in their 2017 second round pick? And, if so, why hasn’t a phone call been made to Junior Galette?

The Redskins paid Galette for two years as he worked his way back from two torn Achilles. He finally returned last year and proved himself very worthy of a roster spot. Now, as he sits at home unsigned, the Redskin’s pass rush is nonexistent. What is the thinking behind the team not reaping the rewards of their patience with the pass rusher? We may never know.
