Nebraska stumbles once again

For the first time in over 60 years, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have started their season with two straight losses. Those two losses were in front of large home crowds and for first-year head coach Scott Frost, it could not have been any worse.

A 24-19 defeat to Troy on Saturday came as a definite stunner to Frost and his Cornhusker squad. The defense came to play on this day but what proved to be costly were the three turnovers committed by the Nebraska offense which included a game-sealing interception on Nebraska’s final drive of the game.

Frost is coming off an undefeated season as head coach at Central Florida last season which culminated in a bowl win over Auburn. Starting off the season 0-2 probably was not expected even with the Nebraska roster being subpar overall.

Frost is capable of turning things around in Lincoln but that probably won’t happen this season. The Cornhuskers still have Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Iowa remaining on the schedule. It’s probably going to be a long season for Nebraska.
