Ohio State outlasts TCU

What appeared to be an exciting matchup on paper turned out to be exactly that as the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes took the field in Dallas against #17 TCU. Both teams entered the game with good defenses in their own rights, but the offensive fireworks instead produced 1,037 yards and 68 points.

Buckeyes quarterback Dwayne Haskins continued to show why he is a legitimate Heisman darkhorse by passing for 344 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for another score. The Buckeyes lost star pass rusher Nick Bosa during the game to a groin injury but even then, the TCU Horned Frogs gave the Buckeyes plenty of fight in this one.

It was well-known that this was the last game of Ohio State’s head coach Urban Meyer’s three-game suspension. The team has started 3-0 behind interim head coach Ryan Day, who may be auditioning for a future head coaching job with his name gradually swirling around possible openings.

For TCU, they have an important meeting next week against the Texas Longhorns. However, it’s tough to not be impressed with how the Horned Frogs went toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country.
