Buccaneers to Watch
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Fitzmagic returned in week one with an incredible performance, throwing four touchdowns and 417 yards in a win against New Orleans. Can he sustain that success going forward and keep Jameis Winston on the sideline once his suspension runs through?
Fitzpatrick is 4-3 in games after a game with at least four touchdowns. Can he carry that over against the world champs?
Chris Godwin
DeSean Jackson practiced on Friday, but concussions are tricky and the Buccaneers might hold back on his playing time. Godwin had a touchdown and 41 yards last week against New Orleans, and he’ll have a slight height advantage against Jalen Mills.
A second-year receiver out of Penn State, Godwin will likely be the number two. He’s another dynamic weapon who proved himself last year with over 500 receiving yards.
Offensive Line
Tampa Bay’s offensive line allowed zero sacks and just five hurries last week. How much was caused by the lack of pressure from New Orleans and how much was the success of the Bucs?
Either way, it led to Fitzpatrick having a clean pocket and tremendous success throwing the football. Philadelphia will create pressure up front with their dynamic defensive line spearheaded by Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham. It’ll be on the offensive line to keep Fitzpatrick upright and comfortable during this game.
