Eagles to Watch
Nelson Agholor
With Jeffery out recovering from rotator cuff surgery, Nelson Agholor has been elevated to the number one receiver spot. Traditionally he’s been Philadelphia’s slot receiver and number three, but last week starting outside he was Mr. Reliable for Nick Foles.
Agholor had eight catches last week to lead the team, and he finished with a perfect quarterback rating when he passed a ball to Nick Foles for a first down.
Philadelphia needs someone to step up and Agholor will have to be that guy.
Jalen Mills/Ronald Darby
Cornerbacks Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby with have a tough task on Sunday containing the Buccaneers dynamic receivers. Mike Evans is one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league for a reason: he’s caught at least 68 balls and had over 1,000 receiving yards in his first four seasons. There will be a major size mismatch with Evans being 6’5 and most of the Eagles corners being about 6 foot.
Former Eagle DeSean Jackson is questionable with a concussion, so
Jay Ajayi
Jay Ajayi will get the majority of carries this week with Darren Sproles out with a hamstring injury. Last week Ajayi got 15 of the 25 running back carries over Sproles and Corey Clement.
Tampa Bay only gave up 29 yards to Alvin Kamara last week, looking tough up front against the run.
