Arizona Cardinals: Time for Josh Rosen to take over
The Sam Bradford era hasn’t gone as planned for the Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals felt like a natural fit for Sam Bradford as he entered free agency this offseason. A team in transition with quarterback Carson Palmer and head coach Bruce Arians retiring, Arizona needed someone to stabilize the offense and Bradford, when healthy, has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the league.
Drafting UCLA’s Josh Rosen put pressure on Bradford early, but he’s been in that position before when Philadelphia traded up for Carson Wentz. Bradford was subsequently traded the week before Philly’s first game after Bridgewater went down.
Through two games with Arizona things just haven’t clicked for Bradford and the offense. He’s 37-57 with no touchdowns and two interceptions and the offense has scored just six points.
With playmakers like Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, Christian Kirk, and JJ Nelson there is no reason Bradford and the offense has scrounged up just six points this year.

Rosen was one of the most polished quarterbacks to come out of college in recent memory. His footwork and mechanics are as refined as you’ll see, and while his personality doesn’t mesh with everyone, he’s one of the smartest and most thoughtful players in the league.
That being said, rookie head coach Steve Wilks needs to make a change if he wants to salvage his season. Last year only one team (New Orleans) made the playoffs after starting 0-2.
Rosen will take his bumps early with the Cardinals, but he projects to be one of the better quarterbacks to come out of the 2018 NFL Draft despite being the fourth of five first round quarterbacks.
It’s time for Arizona to make a change and let Rosen be the fourth of the five first round passers to make his NFL debut.
