Texas Players To Watch

Tre Watson – Running Back

The Texas offense has done their job so far this year, putting up 29 points in week one and 28 points in week two. Tre Watson and Keaontay Ingram are leading the charge on the ground but Ingram is not expected to suit up against the Trojans which leaves the Cal transfer to carry the load. Watson is the leading rusher with 126 and will be key in the Longhorns chances coming off a torn ACL.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey – Wide Receiver

Humphrey is a big bodied receiver who can cause a lot of problems if he can get going. He is 6’5 and 220 pounds so USC defenders like Iman Marshall and Marvel Tell III will have to play tight in the secondary. Humphrey has one lone touchdown on the year and 191 yards to go with it. The size differential could be a table turner.

Sam Ehlinger – Quarterback

The sophomore from Austin has struggled to protect the football. He threw two interceptions in the loss to Maryland in week one and then lost a fumble in week two in the win against Tulsa. If Ehlinger can tighten up the bolts and protect the football then the Texas offense should be able to move the ball effectively. If not, Shane Buechele waits on the sideline.
