LSU Players to Watch

Nick Brossette

LSU’s history of developing great running backs is well documented with Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice, Spencer Ware, Jeremy Hill, and Joseph Addai among the most recent stars to emerge. Nick Brossette has now emerged as the next star at LSU

After getting just 46 carries in his first three seasons with the Tigers Brossette has 41 in his first two games this year with his first career touchdowns.

Greedy Williams

LSU not only produces great running backs, but also great defensive backs such as Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, and Jamal Adams. The next star could be cornerback Greedy Williams, a redshirt sophomore who had six interceptions last season and stayed true to his name.

At 6’3 Williams has the ideal size an length of an NFL cornerback, and he used that to his advantage last year with the turnovers and 10 deflected passes last year. He got his first pick of the year against Southeastern Louisiana last week and will be looking for more as he continues to build his NFL profile.

Grant Delpit

The sophomore safety will be a name to watch in the future as LSU continues to develop defensive backs. He first jumped out on tape with a tremendous pass breakup against Auburn last year in the endzone when he flipped around and got his hands up.

This year Delpit leads LSU with two sacks and is second in tackles, so look for him to have a big impact for the Tigers going forward.
