Auburn Players to Watch

Jarrett Stidham

Quarterback Jarrett Stidham will be in the first round quarterback conversation in the 2019 NFL Draft. His numbers this season don’t blow you away, but with Auburn being so good running the football his numbers can be put to the side in some ways.

Stidham is a tremendous athlete who looks the part of an NFL quarterback. His arm is strong enough for him to make deep throws while off balance, and he can extend plays with his legs.

While the passing offense won’t be Auburn’s biggest threat, Stidham’s playmaking ability makes him a key player in this weekend’s game.

JaTavious Whitlow

The true freshman put on a show against Alabama State with 122 rushing yards on 14 carries. Playing with Kam Martin, Whitlow provides a nice number two punch to the Tigers run game.

LSU has only allowed 148 rushing yards in their first two games, so Whitlow and Martin will provide a new challenge for them.

Derrick Brooks

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said he tried to recruit Derrick Brooks out of high school and that he reminds him of Reggie White. That’s high praise for the junior who comes in at 6’5 325 lbs.

Brook stands out on tape as a hulking presence throwing opponents left and right and using his length to block passes and kicks.

He’ll be a name to watch whenever he declares for the NFL draft, whether that be this year or next.
