An SEC showdown features two top-12 college football teams, the LSU and Auburn Tigers

The Tiger Bowl will be held for the 53rd time this weekend as two college football powerhouses square up in Auburn, Alabama. LSU and Auburn have been fierce rivals, splitting the last four matchups and LSU holding an all-time 29–22–1 record.

This season LSU and Auburn have been excellent on defense, both sitting atop the SEC with nine sacks apiece, the second-most in college football. LSU has held their first two opponents to just 17 points, while Auburn has limited their two opponents to 25.

This game carries huge implications for the college football playoffs, and whoever drops their first game of the year is likely out of top-four contention for the remainder of the season.

It also carries major recruiting weight as both programs look towards locking in the 2019 and 2020 classes.

Here’s how to watch LSU at Auburn this weekend on TV and online.

TV: CBS
Time: 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

Odds

Line: Auburn (-9.5)
Over/Under: 45

The home team in this series has won eight of the last nine matchups and Auburn has won seven of their last nine home games at Jordan-Haare Stadium. Homefield advantage clearly plays a major role for the oddsmakers as well as seeing Auburn score 63 points against Alabama State. Quarterback Jarrett Stidham threw and rushed for a touchdown in that blowout, while the run game came out hot with 429 yards on the ground.

Auburn also has revenge on their mind after LSU overcame a 20-point deficit last year to win 27-23 in Baton Rouge.
