2019 NFL Draft Prospects Who Must Step Up in Week 3
Devin White (OLB – LSU) vs. Auburn
Devin White burst onto the scene as a sophomore last season at LSU in his first season as a starter, finishing with an SEC-leading 133 tackles. He was named first-team All-SEC, and is a leading All-American candidate in 2018.
One of the fastest linebackers in college football, White will look to rise up 2019 NFL Draft boards with a good showing against Auburn.
The winner of this game will likely be locked into a top-two finish in the SEC West. With LSU hosting Alabama later in the season, the Bayou Bengals could even be a surprise division champion. That’s getting ahead of things, but there’s no questioning the importance of this weekend’s clash.
If White plays as well as he did in last year’s matchup, his 2019 NFL Draft stock will continue to rise. White finished with a game-high 15 tackles, seven more than anyone else on either side. His ability to make plays, both in the backfield and from sideline-to-sideline, made a big impact as LSU shutout Auburn in the second half and erased a nine-point deficit to win the game.
White isn’t a defender offenses can scheme away from, so expect another big game from the LSU linebacker.
