4. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts defense came out with a lot of energy against Cincinnati to start the season, but it soon became apparent that their great effort just couldn’t mask their overall lack of talent. This group needs more difference-makers and especially in the front four which is the lifeblood of the 4-3 defense. Ed Oliver of Houston is fast becoming a favorite in draft circles. With good reason. He has those traits that can make for a dominant interior player both with the strength to stop the run but especially the burst and quickness to shoot gaps rushing the passer. He’s a disruptor who could be lethal if polished.
