The news that Vernon Hargreaves could be lost for the season is a body blow to a secondary that couldn’t afford it. Tampa Bay already showed it’s wasn’t ready for primetime when Drew Brees lit them up for 439 yards. Now that they’re down a key cornerback, it threatens to get a lot worse. This likely means the team will have to find reinforcements next spring. Deandre Baker would be a dream come true. He’s another one of those athletic cover corners who may be frowned upon for his size but is always around the football, rarely gets beat and makes plays. He should be able to hold up against the best of that NFC South.
