With week two of the college football season in the books, let’s pinpoint some key takeaways from this week’s action.

As week two of the 2018 college football marathon did not bring us a number of headlining, box office-type contests, it did provide the viewing party a few intriguing games and some key developments that will definitely help shape the season as it continues.

In the Big 12, Kyler Murray and the #5 Oklahoma Sooners impressed once again with their second straight home win to open up the season. On tap next week is the Iowa State Cyclones, who if you recall handed the Sooners a midseason loss in Norman. A somewhat slow start by the #11 Penn State Nittany Lions was masked thanks to a 37-point second half against in-state rival Pittsburgh.

Let’s stay in the Big Ten and highlight how #19 Michigan got back on track with a 49-7 win over Western Michigan and the #21 Miami Hurricanes did the same with a 77-0 romp over Savannah State. Time to dive into the takeaways from week two.
