Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers
The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but that doesn’t excuse Jimmy Garoppolo’s shocking, horrendous week one performance.
Garoppolo signed a massive contract this offseason with San Francisco after going undefeated in his five starts with the team last year.
In his week one start against the Vikings, Garoppolo completed 45.5 percent of his passes with one touchdown and three interceptions, and the arrow is trending down.
The 49ers’ running game was pathetic, and their offense looked like it clearly lacked a true number one presence at receiver. If only a few of those had been available over the course of the offseason…
It was just one start and Garoppolo will obviously have a number of chances to redeem himself, but following what we saw last season, this performance was one of the biggest surprises and one of the biggest disappointments of week one of the NFL season.
