Taking a look at the top five most shocking performances around the NFL in week one, including Ryan Fitzpatrick and Adrian Peterson.

The 2018 NFL season got off to a roaring start on Sunday with some shocking performances around the league.

Which players (or teams) put on the most shocking performances so far?

We won’t highlight Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Nathan Peterman too much here, as bad as Peterman’s performance was. It was not a shock to see him struggle against the Baltimore Ravens, whose defense dating back to the start of the 2017 season is one of the best and most underrated in the NFL.

More shocking than Peterman in that game, even, was the performance of Joe Flacco who absolutely lit up the Bills’ secondary to the tune of 25-of-34 passing with three touchdowns in less than a full game (pulled in a blowout).

What other players around the NFL stood out around the league? There were many, but some really stood out more than others. Some of these players surpassed expectations, while others buried stigmas around age or ineptitude.

Here are the top five most shocking performances from Sunday’s NFL action across the league.
