Matt Nagy trusted Mitch Trubisky too much

Mitch Trubisky didn’t have the best night. In his first trip up to Green Bay, he looked like the young kid he still is. He missed some open receivers and he got happy feet in the pocket too often. He just didn’t look comfortable enough. For head coach Matt Nagy to ask him to throw the ball 35 times in those conditions seems a bit excessive.

Especially when he had Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen in the backfield who combined for 107 yards on 20 carries. Nagy showed a little too much of his quarterback background in that game. He wants to run the offense through that position. That’s fine but he had to recognize Trubisky wasn’t feeling it and lean on the ground game more. Hopefully, he’ll take that lesson to heart.
